SiLaK 2022: International Anti-Corruption Day | 09 December 2022
The Office of the Ombudsman joins the celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day with a Consultation Workshop on Platform for Anti-Corruption Innovations. Entitled “2022 Sikhay Laban sa Korapsyon (SiLaK),” the Consultation provides an opportunity to revive and enhance the initiative as a viable collaborative research and advocacy platform for developing and implementing innovative solutions in combating corruption. The implementation of SiLaK provides the institutional impetus to address the call for a coherent national innovation agenda and the global imperative for public sector innovation. The event was supported by Olivier Lermet, UNODC Country Manager, Kelia Cummins, Director of INL and Siavash Rahbari of IDLO. Present during the event are top officials from the Office of the Ombudsman and representatives from various government agencies. #WeProtect #OmbudsmanPH

Key officials of the Office of the Ombudsman welcomed Associate Director Jeffrey Olson for his new assignment in the US DOJ. The Office of the Ombudsman is looking forward to further collaboration between two agencies during Mr. Olson’s stint for the next five (5) years in the Philippines.
OMB joins the 18-day campaign to end VAW
Ombudsman officials and employees join the Philippine Commission on Women’s 18-day campaign to end violence against women (VAW) by wearing anti-VAW advocacy t-shirts during the flag raising ceremony on 25 November 2019. The campaign is observed annually from November 25 to December 12 to raise awareness among all stakeholders that VAW is a public issue of national concern. This year’s advocacy campaign theme is “VAW Free Community Starts with Me.” #VAWfreePH
Aguhon ng Bagong Bayani Awards
The Office of the Ombudsman holds its first Aguhon ng Bagong Bayani (Ombudsman Integrity Awards) on 19 September 2019 at the OMB Function Room, OMB Main Building, Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City. The Aguhon Award recognized five individuals for being exemplary models of integrity and presented with a plaque of recognition and cash benefits by Ombudsman Samuel Martires. Receiving the 2019 Aguhon award are 1st Lt. John Frederick Savellano (posthumous), Ronald Gadayan, Grace Laxamana, Agustin Laude, Jr., and Sixto Brillante, Jr.
OMB-IPU-NET MOA Signing – 14 August 2019
The Office of the Ombudsman and the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) renewed its partnership with the signing of the new memorandum of agreement on the Investment Promotions Unit Network (IPUNET) program of the BOI on 14 August 2019, Agham Road, Quezon City. Representatives from Aftercare Services Division, Investments Assistance Service, BOI led by Mr. Ernesto Delos Reyes, Jr., were present during the activity. The IPUNET program aims to improve the business environment in the Philippines by streamlining procedures and establishing close coordination among the concerned government agencies regarding investor and business-related issues and concerns.
Meeting with Multi-Sectoral Organizations – Values Formation – 25 July 2019
The Office of the Ombudsman presented its corruption prevention programs during the Meeting with Multi-Sectoral Organizations on 25 July 2019 at the OMB Function Room, Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City. In his speech, Ombudsman Samuel Martires emphasized the importance of strengthening values formation and religious education in schools as main entry points in preventing corruption. The event was attended by various organizations from the religious institutions, education sector, media and other stakeholders.

Ombudsman executives and officials attend the strategic planning workshop on the Public Accountability Blueprint conducted last 03 to 04 April 2019 at Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City. The two-day activity concluded with a plenary presentation and synthesis of workshop outputs of the five cluster groups: Prosecution; Preliminary Investigation and Administrative Adjudication; Field Investigation; Public Assistance and Corruption Prevention; Finance and Administration; and Records Management.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales meets with the delegates of the 14th South East Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC) Secretariat. The SEA-PAC aims to establish and strengthen collaborative efforts against corruption and to increase capacity and institutional building among the parties in preventing and combating corruption. The 10-member countries of SEA-PAC is composed of the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Kingdom of Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. (19 July 2018).
