Many local communities are still considered waterless, characterized by lack of quality and safe drinking water, as well as lack of sanitary toilets. The inadequacy in water results to further problems including poor health and sanitation including bad attack of water borne diseases.

This conference aimed to build social awareness and relevance into the content and methodology of public administration. This is in line with ASPAP continuously improving the discipline by providing avenues to exchange ideas, share expertise, and pool institutional resources. It highlighted the MDGs as the substantive content to teach public administration effectively, to build capacity for service delivery, and to generate resources.

This workshop was a joint activity of UNDP and APPAN aimed at stimulating analysis of MDGs in the different countries, to provide update on the trade issues of concern for developing country parliamentarians from the Asian Region in the light of the outcomes of the 5th WTO Ministerial meeting in Cancun, Mexico plus the formulation and launching of the APPAN Women’s Political Caucus.
