Selected personnel of the Office of the Ombudsman participated in the Online Training on Strengthening Anti-Corruption Efforts through Intelligence-Based Investigation (IBI) Methodology conducted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA), the training arm of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), from 10 to 12 February 2026 via Zoom.
The training brought together officials and practitioners from anti-corruption agencies, law enforcement bodies, prosecution services, audit institutions, and other relevant government, international, and professional organizations across Asia engaged in governance, integrity, and enforcement functions.
Through the program, participants were introduced to key Intelligence-Based Investigation approaches, including the integration of undercover techniques, financial analysis, and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. These competencies aim to further equip investigators and practitioners with advanced tools to detect, investigate, and dismantle complex corruption schemes and effectively address evolving forms of administrative malpractice.
The Office’s participation underscores its continuing commitment to strengthening institutional capabilities, enhancing investigative excellence, and fostering regional cooperation in the fight against corruption.
