Integrity Run, Palarong Ombudsman, kicks off OMB’s 38th Anniversary
QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Integrity, accountability, and public service excellence were front and center in the opening activities of the 38th Anniversary of the Office of the Ombudsman at the Philippine Science High School Main Campus in Quezon City on Monday.
The pre-dawn Integrity Run 2026 kicked off the Office of the Ombudsman’s week-long celebration of its 38 years of unwavering public service.
Around 350 runners participated in the 5KM and 3KM categories.
Personnel from sectoral offices in Visayas and Mindanao participated via a virtual run format.
Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano led the solidarity event together with officials, employees, partners, and stakeholders.
“The Integrity Run reminds of our work and how the fight for justice requires a steady and deliberate pace,” AO Clavano, co-chair of this year’s anniversary committee, emphasized. “Crossing the finish line will come if we are disciplined enough to keep putting one foot in front of the other.”
“It is about reinforcing the values that unite us as public servants — integrity, perseverance, teamwork, and commitment to the Filipino people,” Clavano added.
More than a sporting event, the Ombudsman Integrity Run symbolizes the institution’s collective commitment to move forward with integrity, discipline, resilience, and public accountability.
Fun Pinoy parlor games fostered teamwork and camaraderie in the Palarong Ombudsman Level 38 Unlocked.
OMB employees also showcased their wit and talent with the Lakan and Lakambini ng Palaro.
The kick-off activities reflect the Office’s broader thrust toward employee wellness, organizational unity, and values-driven public service, recognizing that a healthy and motivated workforce plays a vital role in strengthening institutional effectiveness and citizen trust.
The Office of the Ombudsman likewise expressed gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and support teams who contributed to the successful preparation and organization of the events.
The Ombudsman Anniversary activities form part of the Office’s continuing efforts to foster a more engaged, values-oriented, and reform-driven public institution anchored on integrity in both service and action. #
